3 The AI Legal Assistant
This is the heart of the app - your AI Chat workspace, found under AI Assistant in the sidebar.
Quick Action Templates
Above the chat box you'll find one-tap buttons for common documents: Statement of Claim, Motion on Notice, Affidavit, Legal Opinion, Counter-Affidavit, Deed of Assignment, Brief of Argument, and Letter of Demand. Tapping one pre-fills the chat with a starting prompt you can edit.
Describing a Request
Type what you need in plain English - for example: "Draft a statement of claim for breach of contract. Claimant: ABC Ltd. Defendant: XYZ Corp. Court: Lagos High Court." The more detail you give (parties, court, facts, dates), the more accurate the draft.
Case Context
Use the case selector above the message box to attach an active case file. The AI will automatically use that case's parties, court, and facts in every draft until you clear it.
Attaching Documents Premium
Attach a case document (PDF, DOC, DOCX, or TXT) directly to the conversation so the AI can read and reference it while drafting.
4 Case Files
Case Files keep the AI consistent across a matter - no more re-typing party names and facts in every message.
Creating a Case File
Go to Case Files in the sidebar and click New Case File. Fill in:
- Case title and suit number
- Court and jurisdiction
- Case type (civil, criminal, commercial, constitutional, labour, family, property, maritime, tax, other)
- Parties (Claimant vs Defendant)
- A short facts summary
Once saved, select it from the case context dropdown in the chat panel whenever you want the AI to draft using that case's details.
5 My Drafts
Every document the AI generates is saved automatically under My Drafts, so you can revisit, re-download, or continue editing later. Each entry shows the document title, type, and the date it was created.
6 Uploaded Documents Premium
Premium users can upload court documents, contracts, and case files (PDF or Word) under Documents. The AI extracts key facts from what you upload and can weave them straight into your drafts and analysis.
7 Legal Templates
The Templates panel is a library of pre-built Nigerian legal document formats you can launch directly into the AI Assistant, so you never start from a blank page.
8 Pre-Trial Checklist
A standard Nigerian court-filing checklist lives under Checklist. Tick items off as you prepare a matter for court, and use Reset to start fresh for a new case.
9 Profile & Upgrading
Under Profile, update your name, phone number, chambers, and location at any time.
Your plan card shows how many drafts you've used this month against your limit. When you're ready for more, click Upgrade to Premium and follow the prompt - our team completes upgrades via bank transfer or card at billing@RideLink.
10 Installing the App
NigerianLegalAI is a Progressive Web App (PWA) - you can install it like a native app, with no app store required.
- Desktop (Chrome/Edge): click the Install App button in the navigation bar, or the install icon in your browser's address bar.
- Android: tap the install banner when it appears, or use your browser menu → Add to Home screen.
- iPhone/iPad (Safari): tap the Share icon → Add to Home Screen.
11 Account & Security
- Use a strong, unique password of at least 8 characters.
- If you forget your password, use Forgot password? on the sign-in screen to receive a secure reset link by email.
- Never share your login credentials - each seat should have its own account so your activity and drafts stay correctly attributed.
12 Frequently Asked Questions
Is the AI's output legally binding or court-certified?
No. All AI-generated content is a drafting aid. Always have a qualified legal practitioner review any document before filing or acting on it.
What happens when I reach my monthly draft limit on the Free plan?
You'll be prompted to upgrade to Premium for unlimited drafting. Your limit resets each month, and previously generated drafts remain accessible under My Drafts.
Can I use the app outside Nigeria?
Yes. Beyond Nigerian law, the knowledge base covers ECOWAS treaty law, the African Charter on Human Rights, and general common-law principles across several African jurisdictions.
How do I remove the watermark from my PDF downloads?
Watermarks only appear on the Free plan. Upgrading to Premium removes them from all future PDF exports.
Can my whole firm share one account?
We recommend the Enterprise (Law Firm) plan for multiple attorneys - it includes multi-user management so each lawyer has their own seat, case files, and drafts.
